Ahuasteca Potocina

Ahuasteca Potocina

Hello, today I will have a small change in the post. Today I will talk about a natural site from Mexico characterized by its conservation and natural beauty, the Ahuasteca Potocina.

Imagine swimming under a waterfall, rafting down a bright blue river, or exploring surreal gardens in the middle of the jungle. Sounds cool? That’s everyday life in Huasteca. This place isn’t just pretty – it’s wildly beautiful.

Here are some spots you can’t miss:

Tamul Waterfall

This beast is one of the tallest in Mexico (about 105 meters high!) and absolutely stunning. You can either hike or paddle upriver in a canoe with locals guiding the way. Either way, you’re getting wet – and you’ll love it.

Tip: Go in the dry season (November to May) – the water is crystal clear and super photogenic!

Puente de Dios (Bridge of God)

Don’t let the name fool you – this is more nature’s playground than anything else. A mix of waterfalls, caves, and natural pools, this is the place to swim, jump off cliffs, and float through underground caves.

Must bring: Water shoes, a waterproof bag, and your sense of adventure.

Micos River

Perfect for those who want to try waterfall jumping – safely, of course. Local guides will take you to jump off a series of waterfalls from 1 to 8 meters high. Trust me, it
’s a blast.

Warning: Not for the faint of heart, but totally worth it.

  1. I have never gone to the Huasteca, but I felt like I was there while reading your description of it. It's interesting to appreciate something more that just the landscape and the place as an adventure and vocational centre. Thank you for sharing this posts, it felt different from the others, more tourism inclined.
